Technology Support Specialist MacOS

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude to analyze and identify security improvement opportunities and provide guidance on remediation and overall systems security. This position requires both independent action and team working skills to provide relevant and accurate recommendations. Primary responsibilities include:
•Expert knowledge of Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS), including how to install them, troubleshoot them, and configure them via ePO and standalone.
• Experience in Information Security program development and identification of data that need to be protected, writing rules to protect the data, and reviewing security incidents to identify violations.
• Expert in tuning Trellix product rules to minimize false positives, and maximize Data Protection.
• Detail orient to analyze and document requirements and solution designs
• Troubleshoot end-user problems related to data and personal computer solutions.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure that projects are completed on time, in scope, and with a high level of technical expertise.
• Demonstrate problem-solving skills in a team environment

Job Description 

 

Trellix is currently looking for a Systems Administrator/MacOS Technician reporting to our Director, Workstation Engineering & Support. This position’s primary function is to provide support for our MacOS endpoints and administration of Jamf. Secondary functions include resolving support tickets requiring escalation, interfacing with users throughout the support process and configuration/deployment of end-user devices through management tools and processes. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Effectively leverage Jamf Pro to configure, deploy, manage, and maintain Mac computers. 

  • Assist with support ticket resolution; provide feedback to IT staff as needed throughout the resolution process and ensure communication to the end-user through the life of the ticket. 

  • Provide support to Windows support staff with queries on how to address MacOS related issues. 

  • Write and maintain clear imaging and application deployment documentation for Tier 1 support personnel; develop technical documentation for employees & online knowledge base. 

  • Identify trends and frequent problems; address by create automations or compiling front-facing documentation, as well as complying with departmental SLAs, ticket management and solution documentation procedures. 

  • Assist in change management and compatibility testing of configuration changes on new and existing version of OS x. 

  • Ensure security applications are distributed and applied as appropriate across workstations. 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

 

  • 3+ years of experience with JAMF 

  • Success in designing and engineering for large implementations of JAMF in a multi-location environment. 

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow a plus. 

  • Familiarity with Apple Device Enrollment Program 

  • Familiarity with Apple Volume Purchase Program 

  • Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC) or Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA) certification a plus 

  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills 

  • Experience operating in a regulated environment; financial services experience preferred 

  • Ability to effectively manage time between projects and daily operational tasks 

Base Pay Range: $120000 – $223000. Actual base pay within this range will depend on varying circumstances, including the work location, individual qualifications, company budget and other operational business needs. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy.
