Staff / Sr. Staff Engineer

Role Overview:

Seeking a seasoned senior software engineer with the experience
necessary to design, develop, and support Trellix’s network products,
especially CentOS, Linux kernel, and OS upgrade and migration. Trellix
provides an environment that encourages creative thinking.

About the Role:

• Development of the next-generation network security and threat management product suite.
• Own significant areas of the code for both new feature/functionality development and to maintain and improve parts of the existing products and platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new and improve on existing features.
• Documenting business requirements and coming up with the technical solutions.
• Continuous focus and contribution in the areas of performance, availability & scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the product.
• Active participation in our ongoing process enhancements, migration to native cloud technologies, and software development practices.

About You:

• 10+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages.
• Experience in CentOS, Rocky Linux, kernel environments, and large-scale distributed software systems.
• Thorough knowledge of Linux with C.
• Knowledge of Linux OS upgrade, migration, and realignment.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, & analysis skills.
• Ability to understand, consume, and integrate with OSS and 3rd party APIs.
• Knowledge of high availability in distributed Linux environments is a plus.
• Experience with agile programming and rapid prototyping is a plus.
• Interested and able to learn other languages or technologies as needed.
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
