Senior DevOps Engineer

Role Overview:

Release Engineering group manages the software building and integration for Trellix products. In this role, release engineering work with Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance and Project Management to define and execute projects that implement build, release and produce deliverables for various cloud technologies such as Aws, Azure etc.

The successful candidate will use his technical and communication skills to ensure the engineering developments activities are supported in proactive and efficient manner. Work with new technologies and processes to meet ever growing challenges in this role.

About the role:

• Manage the source code control system: Perforce, GitHub and others.

• Develop an automated, continuous, build process that reviews the source code, identifies build errors and notifies appropriate parties to expedite/facilitate synchronization to the latest build.

• Improve productivity by designing & developing full-featured build systems; implementing tools and scripts that enable efficient, flexible builds (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby/Rails etc.)

• Integrate the build system to the bug tracking system.

• Develop an efficient deployment process for web deployments (rolling, hot etc.)

• Identify and propagate best practices and processes.

• Communicate releases related activities to all the stakeholders and take their feedback to improve the process.

• Develop & implement Cloud builds processes, familiarity with AWS and other cloud environments.

About you:

• Minimum 5 years' experience with an expertise on a variety of build release and management process such as GIT, SVN and Perforce.

• Strong scripting and automation skills including shell and one or more Perl, Python, bash or similar language.

• Experience with build automation tools (Team City/Jenkins etc.)

• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, OCI, Azure etc.

• Knowledge of build release and configuration management practices, including branch-based development and patch/merging oriented work flow.

• Proficient in Perforce, Linux and Unix systems administration and virtualization such as VMware, HperV, VirtualBox etc.

• Experience with software packaging such as: rpm, egg, wheel, jar etc.

• Proficient with bug tracking system like Jira/Confluence

• Knowledge of Continuous Integration principles.

•  Experience with automated build tools

• Expert level knowledge of VMware/KVM tools & Virtualization experience
