Role Overview:

Trellix is launching a new Proposal Services center to implement best practice RFx/proposal management processes; create a centralized repository of vetted RFx content across all business units (e.g., InfoSec; HR; Legal; Product Management; Product Marketing Management; Facilities, etc.) to ensure RFx responses have a consistent look, feel, and tone; and automate specific aspects of RFx creation relative to solicited and unsolicited bids.

The launch includes a differentiated approach to managing solicited RFx and a proactive and structured approach to unsolicited proposal creation. Using content curated by SMEs and housed in the proposal automation tool (RFPIO), both approaches will increase visibility through reporting and analytics; create time efficiencies; and increase win rates, which will be tracked quarter over quarter (q/q) and year over year (y/y).

The Proposal Manager (EMEA) will support the Proposal Services center by creating proposal content that is complaint, compelling, and technically accurate. The Proposal Manager (EMEA) reports to the Proposal Services manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technology: Uses the proposal automation and content management tool (RFPIO) to create RFx, capability statements, and security assessment content for the Trellix sales team in response to product and services RFx
  • Proposal Management: Reviews and analyzes RFx to understand program and customer requirements
  • Proposal Management: Manages the entire lifecycle of commercial RFx (e.g., writing content, managing the process, working across the organization to assimilate information, and adhering to tight deadlines)
  • Proposal Management: Ensures that all RFx are brand compliant and position Trellix as the best value
  • Project Management: Coordinates proposal efforts with product management, legal department, sales, finance, information security, etc. to develop cohesive responses
  • Project Management: Supports the commercial sales team by ensuring the completion and on-time submission of technically accurate and legally compliant RFx responses
  • Content Development: Collaborates with the Proposal Services team and manager to ensure the development of reusable RFx content

Required Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience in proposal development or technical writing efforts within the IT sector or equivalent
  • Excellent English language, grammar, and spelling skills for writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Analytical/critical-thinking skills for understanding complex product offerings and value propositions and defining them in succinct, persuasive written responses
  • Exceptional problem resolution, time, project management, and organizational skills
  • One to three years of experience using a content- or knowledge-management tool in the creation of customer deliverables (RFx, white papers, PowerPoint presentations, etc.)
  • Expert-level user of Microsoft Office with a particular focus on Word and Excel
  • Ability to interface cross-functionally with stakeholders to collect data and information
  • Familiarity with Shipley, and/or APMP proposal practices

Desired Qualifications:

  • Six to eight years of preparation experience in a technical writer or proposal manager role
  • Experience using RFPIO or other similar proposal automation tool
  • Technical knowledge regarding information security solutions, enterprise software, or IT products and services in general
  • APMP/Shipley certification
